Caitlin Clark Fans Justify WNBA Struggles For Indiana Fever Guard

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has shot just 27.3% from three-point range in the month of July. While she's declined in terms of offensive efficiency in the last month, WNBA fans believe the best is yet to come for Clark.

The talented guard shot 32% from beyond the arc in May and 36.8% in June, so her July numbers definitely stood out as a decline. On the year, she's connected on 71-of-217 three-pointers (32.7%). Her senior year of college at Iowa saw her shoot 201-of-532 from three for an average of 37.8%.

She's working through a rough patch with her three-point shooting, but Clark has still been able to increase her total averages. The 22-year-old has posted 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game, leading the Fever in both categories.

WNBA fans commented on the fact that while Clark has been working through shooting struggles, she's still No. 3 in the WNBA MVP odds. Fans believe it's "spooky" that she can get even better than she's already shown.

"Agreed. I hope we get to see the real CC soon from three-point land," said one fan.

"I was thinking the same thing. She's going to get hot at some point. People will go crazy if...," said another fan.

"She gon keep putting in that work she’s a 40% 3PT SHOOTER the reps will continue to come scary hours just year 1," mentioned another.

Clark may be struggling from beyond the arc, but she's been playing at an extremely high level in other areas of the game.

The rookie has proven to be one of the best playmakers in the league, recently securing the WNBA record for the most assists in a single game in league history. She recorded 19 assists against the Dallas Wings on July 17 in the Fever's 101-93 loss.

Once the rookie can get comfortable in the shooting realm, fans believe she can truly cement herself as one of the league's best.

Indiana will have ample time off with the WNBA's Olympic break, which will give the team nearly a month of rest. Clark is currently participating in All-Star weekend festivities in Phoenix, Arizona, and is set to play in her first career All-Star showcase on July 20 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
