July 3rd morning forecast from Tara Hastings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — High humidity for the rest of the week with showers and thunderstorms possible.

TODAY: Incredibly humid for the start of the day and later this afternoon as well. Dewpoints will climb into the upper 60s lower 70s. Clouds from a weakening system to our west will move across the state. We may see a stray shower for the first pat of the day but this continues to fall apart.

There is a better chance for some showers and storms later this afternoon. Some of the thunderstorms may be on the stronger side. Main threat will be gusty winds and some pockets of heavy rain. We are under a slight risk which is a level 2 out of 5 from Indianapolis and areas south.

Highs today will be in the upper 80s but with the high humidity feels like temperatures soar into the middle 90s.

TONIGHT: A few showers and thunderstorms are possible. It will be mild and muggy with lows into the lower 70s.

THURSDAY. A good chance for showers and thunderstorms for the first part of the day. Rain comes to an end around lunch. Rain turns more scattered in nature. While it will not be a washout for the day there will be more spotty showers and storms into the afternoon and evening. We are hopeful that we will see enough breaks in the rain that fireworks shows should be able to go on.

Highs on Thursday stay into the lower 80s but it will feel very uncomfortable thanks to high humidity.

FRIDAY: A few morning showers are possible on Friday otherwise look for partly cloudy skies with highs into the lower 80s.

EXTENDED FORECAST: This weekend looks fantastic! Look for sunshine, a drop in humidity and dry conditions for both Saturday and Sunday. Middle to upper 80s will be possible for the beginning of the new workweek.
