Indianapolis Colts undrafted free agent rookie Kedon Slovis has a path to continue his career if he doesn't make the roster.

Slovis, who joined the Colts this offseason, was selected by the D.C. Defenders with the No. 12 overall pick in the UFL College Draft on Wednesday.

The Colts gave Slovis a $30,000 signing bonus when he joined the team following the draft.

Additionally, fellow Colts undrafted rookie quarterback Jason Bean was selected No. 1 overall in the draft by the Memphis Showboats.

Slovis had a sensational freshman season in 2019 at USC when he posted 3,502 yards, 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

He remained the starter in 2020 during the pandemic-shortened season but struggled in 2021. After that, he eventually transferred to Pittsburgh in 2022 and then again to BYU in 2023.

At 6-foot-2 and 223 pounds, Slovis ran a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash.

Slovis will be competing with Bean and third-year quarterback Sam Ehlinger for the QB3 role, which very well may be on the practice squad.

If Slovis doesn't make the cut following the preseason, he'll have a chance to continue his playing career in the UFL.
