Colts’ veterans and rookies will both report for training camp on July 24th, but several of the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers have recently spent some time together to prepare for the upcoming season.

Michael Pittman posted to his Instagram account a video of him and a number of his teammates going through both on-field and off-field workouts.

Featured in the video you’ll see quarterbacks Anthony Richardson, Sam Ehlinger, and Kedon Slovis. Wide receivers Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, AD Mitchell, DJ Montgomery, Anthony Gould, and Ethan Fernea. Along with running backs Jonathan Taylor, Evan Hull, and Trey Sermon.

Following the Colts’ final minicamp practice back in early June, Richardson told reporters that he and Michael Pittman were organizing a “second minicamp,” as Richardson put it, for the quarterbacks and skill position players.

“Yeah, for sure,” said Richardson when asked about getting together with the Colts’ receivers. “That’s kind of like a mandatory second minicamp for us. Just to get back in a groove before training camp starts. Just get ready for the season.”

This added time together will provide Richardson and his skill position players valuable reps, which will help build upon their already established chemistry. This is also a great opportunity for many members of the Colts’ offense to bond away from the team facility–another important factor when it comes to team building.

This is not the first time that Richardson and the skill position players have gotten together. Last offseason a similar workout during the quiet time in the NFL schedule was put together with everyone meeting up in Florida.

Richardson missed the Colts’ final minicamp practice to give his shoulder some a rest, which both he and head coach Shane Steichen made clear was nothing more than a day off. Recently, GM Chris Ballard said that Richardson would be a “full-go” for training camp.
