NBA playoff hero and Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard was rewarded for his stellar performances last season with a contract extension that represents the maximum allowed for the term.

The new deal, announced Wednesday morning by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, is a three-year extension worth $59 million.

"Deal is maximum allowable over that term for one of the breakout players of the 2024 NBA playoffs," Wojnarowski posted on X.

Nembhard, who was drafted in the second round out of Gonzaga, has been a valuable role player for the Pacers.

His growth over his young career reached a peak during last season’s playoffs. Nembhard's exceptional performances played a crucial role in the Pacers' run to the Eastern Conference Finals, their first appearance there since 2014.

During the regular season, Nembhard averaged 9.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.

However, he elevated his game in the playoffs, boosting his averages to nearly 15 points, 3.3 rebounds, and almost 6 assists per game.

A standout moment came late in the fourth quarter of a crucial game, when Nembhard, despite struggling from the field, hit a clutch 30-foot three-pointer as the shot clock expired.

This basket broke a tie and helped secure a, 111-106, win, igniting a comeback and a series victory against the New York Knicks in seven games.

Nembhard's new contract reflects his vital role in the team's success and his continued growth as a player.

As he builds on his impressive performances, this extension not only rewards his past achievements but also recognizes his potential for future contributions.
