    $13 steak dinner? 25-cent barbecue sandwich? Restaurant deals to check out

    For diners on budgets, restaurants are here to serve, with specials and celebrations that make for meals easy on the pocket.

    New and upcoming offerings include $12 steak dinners, 25-cent barbecue pulled pork sandwiches and a lounge menu at an upscale steakhouse chain.

    City Barbeque 25-cent sandwiches, throwback pricing

    City Barbeque is celebrating its 25th anniversary with vacation giveaways and other prizes through September and a return to 1999 pricing on some items, including less than $5 for dishes, for a day next month.

    On City Barbeque’s Wayback Wednesday on Sept. 25, the restaurants will have special prices on select menu items:

    • Hand-pulled pork: $4.95
    • Turkey breast: $4.95
    • Texas-style sausage with slaw: $4.95
    • Full slab of St. Louis–cut ribs with Texas toast: $19.99

    The first 100 guests at each location on Sept. 25 will receive a mystery scratch-off card with a barcode for a prize.

    One person will win a $100 gift card. Other prizes include free meals, drinks and discounts.

    Also, City Rewards members will receive exclusive anniversary offers, including a 25-cent pulled pork sandwich. New members joining between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30 will automatically get the $25-cent sandwich offer.

    Rick Malir began the Columbus, Ohio-based business in 1999. The chain now operates in 10 states.

    Guests who share their fondest memories of City Barbeque can win prizes, including a luxury stay in The Cave at Dunlap Hollow in Hocking Hills, Ohio, with a fridge full of City Barbeque and a Visa gift card for $500; tickets to the Memphis in May Barbecue Cooking Contest with a $2,000 Visa gift card; limited editions of City Barbeque merch; and free barbecue.

    Logan’s Roadhouse $12.99 steak dinner

    The Wednesday Steak Break has returned to Logan’s Roadhouse , offering diners a six-ounce mesquite-grilled sirloin, two select sides and a soft drink for $12.99.

    The restaurant also has Surf N’ Turf Thursdays, featuring a free popcorn shrimp add-on with any steak purchase.

    Eddie Merlot’s new happy hour and lounge menu

    Eddie Merlot’s introduced a happy hour and lounge menus this week

    Available Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., the happy hour has $8 select red, white and sparkling wines, and $5 off craft cocktails and martinis (except in Fort Wayne).

    Happy hour bar bites are offered in price tiers:

    • $20 tier: Lobster roll, lamb lollipops and Crab & Avocado Cocktails
    • $15 tier: Prime cheeseburger, filet mignon sliders and Onion Ring Tower
    • $10 tier: Ahi tuna wontons, Loaded Potato Chips, filet mignon potstickers, prime French dip sliders and House Fries

    The Lounge Menu, available daily during regular hours, features a selection of bites priced from $10 to $29:
