IDNR Shuts Down Recreational Boating On Fox River
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has temporarily shut down recreational boating on the Fox River, according to a letter posted by the IDNR today. High water levels, swift currents, floating debris and submerged structures in the Fox all contributed to the decision, which was recommended by Cpt Joshua Mooi of the IDNR and approved by Director Natalie Phelps-Finnie.

Illinois health system's name to adorn $100M soccer complex
Evanston, Ill.-based Endeavor Health has secured the naming rights for a new $100 million soccer complex in Chicago. The Endeavor Health Performance Center, set to open in January, will host training for MLS' Chicago Fire as well as youth camps and clinics. The naming rights agreement goes through 2029, spokespeople from Endeavor Health and the Fire told Becker's, declining to reveal the financial terms of the deal.
Elgin looking to replace downtown bridges
The Kimball Street Bridge has served downtown Elgin for more than a century while the nearby Chicago Street Bridge has handled traffic over the Fox River since 1939. Mundelein (Illinois) district plans $199.5 million overhaul of high school
The Mundelein (Illinois) High School District again will seek voter approval to pay for improvements at the 63-year-old facility, but at a reduced amount. The Daily Herald reports that voters will be asked in November to approve a $149.5 million bond oproposal. The money would be used at Mundelein High School to replace aging infrastructure, upgrade instructional spaces, make safety and security improvements, and address overcrowding.

American Ventures is seeking a rezoning by the City of Elgin to allow it to build a mixed-use project that will include retail, restaurant and hospitality uses. The rezoning of a 60-acre tract along U.S. 290 is located adjacent to Ascension Seton Elgin Medical Center. Elgin, a growing town of approximately 12,000 residents, is 30 minutes east of Austin.
