Blythewood resident Dawn Smith takes reins at Bookman Road Elem.
ELGIN – Dawn Smith, a resident of Blythewood, has been named principal of Bookman Road Elementary. After serving as a teaching assistant at North Springs Elementary in 1996, she became a fourth-grade teacher at Bookman Road. She has also served as lead teacher for the Academy for Civic Engagement at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary from 2008 to 2018, and as assistant principal for North Springs Elementary and currently at Sandlapper Elementary.

Senior citizens age 60 and older who live within the Lexington-Richland School District Five school attendance zone are eligible to receive a complimentary Golden Activities Pass to attend athletics events.
