Neighbors unite for tornado relief effort in Eden
EDEN, N.Y. — Neighbors helped neighbors Saturday in Eden as part of a community effort, a little more than two weeks after a tornado left a path of destruction in the town. Volunteers met this morning at Gorcica Field in the town. They boarded buses donated for the day by Eden Central Schools to travel to help homeowners still recovering from the July 10 tornado.

Measure for Subcommittee to Review CPS Program Defeated by County Lawmakers
The Chautauqua County Legislature has overwhelmingly rejected a resolution to form a special committee to review the county's Child Protective Services program. The measure to create the panel to look into a shortage of caseworkers, and low pay, was defeated by a 13-3 vote during Wednesday's meeting in Mayville. Fredonia Democrat Susan Parker pushed for the panel, which would have been a subcommittee of the Human Services Committee. County Lawmakers Back Measure Calling on State AG's Office to Probe City of Dunkirk's Finances
The Chautauqua County Legislature has approved a resolution calling on the New York State Attorney General's Office to do a complete audit of the City of Dunkirk's finances for the past 10 years.
