When the Jacksonville Jaguars moved on from safety Rayshawn Jenkins it raised some eyebrows. And, rightfully so -- he was a pretty good safety and would fit well with Ryan Nielsen's current defensive scheme. However, they had a plan in mind for the future, and the 30-year-old safety was not part of those plans.

And, that's okay, the NFL is a business, and that happens more often than you would think. He happened to save them some money in the process, too. But, because of the guys they had behind him Andre Cisco and then-rookie Antonio Johnson, the Jaguars felt good about their decision.

Johnson had some big-time plays last year toward the end of the season, including two interceptions and a few pass breakups. As for Cisco, well, the Jaguars think this guy can be a star in the NFL. He has shown flashes in the past, and maybe this is the year he takes that leap.

Cisco is having one of the best camps on the team of any defensive back. And on Monday he had an incredible day to just prove that point. At this point, it's clear he is going to be the leader in the safety room, and his play backs that up.

According to several beat writers and reports who are on-site at training camp, Cisco's day on Monday was amazing, as he had three interceptions with one being a pick six of them were an in-game situation.

"Just mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, it kind of has all come together for me this year," Cisco said when asked what's different about this year. "I actually have more progressions in this defense than I did in previous defenses.

"Not that it makes me play slower, but you're saying, 'If he does this, I have to look this way too because my other safety is reacting this way.' It's a little bit more quarterbacking than before, which makes it easier, honestly, once you do read it right. I think I make the most out of every situation. It does feel right. I'm really embracing the new coaches, really embracing the new guys they brought in as well. We've just meshed well."

The offseason and training camp that Cisco is having is super promising for the future of this defense. He's still so young, but he's just now coming into his own. this could be a huge season for him. With the starters playing a bit in the first preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, we may get a glimpse of what Cisco has improved on.
