    Lightning hits Jamestown Township home, causing fire

    JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An early Tuesday morning house fire in Jamestown Township was caused by a lightning strike, fire crews said.

    Around 1:15 a.m., crews with the Jamestown Township Fire Department were sent to Riley Street near 8th Avenue for a fire.

    Crews extinguished the fire within 30 minutes, the fire department said.

    It’s unclear if anyone was hurt.

    The Zeeland Township Fire Department and Byron Township Fire Department assisted.

    The fire remains under investigation.
