Boone County prosecutors charged Devantre Levon Johnson with Deliver Controlled Substance, Second Degree Trafficking Drugs, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and a misdemeanor charge of Driving While Revoked.

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) Joshua Wilbers will face a judge Tuesday after he was charged with first-degree manslaughter and armed criminal action. In November 2022, Wilbers allegedly shot his girlfriend, Hallie Phillips. Phillips was a junior studying animal sciences in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri.

A Boone County jury will hear opening statements this morning in a high-profile murder case that happened in 2021 in Ashland. 22-year-old Robin Morales-Sanchez is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action for the July 2021 stabbing death of 47-year-old Moises Hernandez-Sanchez in a yard. A suspected crack dealer from Columbia is sentenced to probation. Robert Jennings was arrested in 2023 and charged with two counts of second-degree drug trafficking. But on Monday, he pleaded down to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to five years supervised probation on both counts. Tipton woman receives probation for pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine
A Moniteau County woman found in possession of items that tested positive for methamphetamine pleads guilty. Kyndra Rains, of Tipton, pleaded guilty Friday during her pre-trial hearing to possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If she violates her probation, she faces eight years in prison.

New information is revealed about the stabbing of a woman outside a Columbia gas station last week. Murphy Hughes, 69, of Columbia, is now charged with first-degree assault resulting in serious injury, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence. Fallen firefighter receives a final farewell with full honors
Firefighters, family and others bid farewell to Matthew Tobben on Saturday morning in Union, where he grew up and spent most of his career. Tobben, 42, assistant chief with the Boone County Fire Protection District, died early Monday rescuing two people from floodwaters in north Columbia. He was in an inflatable boat with another firefighter and the two distressed individuals when the boat capsized.
