Archery clinic to be held Aug. 25 at MDC's Andy Dalton Range
Body ASH GROVE, Mo. – An increasing number of people are becoming interested in archery for hunting and for recreational target shooting. People who are interested in learning more about the basics of multiple methods of archery should sign up for the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) program “Learning Archery: All Methods” on Aug. 25 at MDC’s Andy Dalton Range and Outdoor Education Center. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Traveling across state lines should be made easier in the coming years thanks to a project looking to bridge the gap. The Mid America Regional Council, Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, and local and state leaders are working together on the Bi-State Sustainable Reinvestment Corridor project. The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a $5.6 million RAISE grant toward the project connecting the cities of Independence, Sugar Creek, KCMO, and KCK.

Athletics Hall of Fame Member Andrea Fischer Dies at 60
Andrea Fischer, M.D., a celebrated four-time All-American track and field athlete from the University of Missouri, passed away at 60 on August 6 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Competing for the Tigers from 1982 to 1985, Fischer was prominent in the three-mile run, the 3,000-meter run, and the distance medley. She was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997, becoming only the second women’s distance runner to achieve this honor. In addition to her accolades on the track, Fischer was a national age-group cycling champion and a triathlete, recognized at both the Ironman World Championship and Ironman Germany events.
