    Tallman Arts Festival coming up Aug. 3-4

    JANESVILLE — The Tallman Arts Festival is just ahead.

    The Rock County Historical Society, 440 N. Jackson St., Janesville, will host the 66th annual festival Aug. 3 and Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

    The event features work from artists nationwide. There are also arts and crafts shopping opportunities with food, beverages, music, a family activity area and exhibits. There will also be museum tours. Jeremiah Fox and the Odd Company Band will play an Elvis tribute on Aug. 3. Frank & Company will play oldies, country and contemporary tunes on Aug. 4.

    “The Tallman Arts Festival is a highlight of the summer, drawing artists of all kinds and visitors of all ages,” the historical society’s website states.

    Exhibitors include fine artists and crafters, as well as practical artists.

    There is an entrance fee of $10 per day, which supports the preservation of historic buildings on the historical society campus. Tickets are free for those 15 years old and younger. Tickets are available in the museum and visitor center. Tickets will be available at the entrances of the historical society campus. Parking is free across the street in the Mercyhealth Hospital parking ramp.

    Artists and nonprofit groups may register for the event atrchs.us/tallman-arts-festival/.

    Tours are free for historical society members, but an admission fee will be charged for non-members.
