Traffic changes coming to Route HH in Carthage
CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportatoin (MoDOT) is advising motorists of an upcoming traffic pattern change coming to Carthage next week. Access to Dr. Russell Smith Way from Jasper County Route HH (Fir Road) traffic will shift to the Route HH-to-southbound-I-49 ramp in Carthage beginning July 8, according to MoDOT. It will remain this way until early 2025.
Fourth of July Celebrations Wind Down
Besides the rescheduled Hollister Firework Celebration going off tonight at 9:00, the Chateau on the Lake will have their annual Fireworks Show on Saturday evening. Also, the City of Jasper will have their annual Sparks in the Sky celebration with events getting underway at 2:00 followed by live music at 5:00 then the fireworks after dusk. Generations of Celebration: Carl Junction’s Parade Tradition
CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Carl Junction’s annual 4th of July parade draws a big crowd. The parade began on Broadway Street and ended on North Main Street. Carl Junction resident Mark Gregg tells us the parade is a way for families and the community to build and share generations of memories. It’s a free event. Those who participate simply show up morning-of and sign up at the elementary school before the festivities start.
Controlled burn gets out of control in Duenweg
DUENWEG, Mo. (KOAM) — About 1 p.m. Wednesday reports of smoke and a large grass fire north part of town alerted Jasper County E-911. Duenweg Fire and nearby Duenweg Police responded. Webb City Fire were requested as mutual aid.
