    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The victim of a life-threatening weekend shooting in Jefferson City identified his shooter, according to a probable cause statement.

Adonius Boykin was charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after a shooting early Sunday that left a 19-year-old in critical condition . Police were sent to a home in the 700 block of Ewing Drive early Sunday and found the victim with at least three shots to the chest and torso, the statement says.

The shooting happened after the victim and two witnesses went to the home to visit friends, the statement says. Police asked the victim who the shooter was and the victim identified Boykin, according to the statement.

The witnesses also identified Boykin as the shooter, the statement says. A witness said the shooting began as soon as they walked into the home.

Police found evidence that shots were fired from inside the house and found a shell casing near where the victim was standing when he was shot, the statement says.

The condition of the victim -- who was rushed to University Hospital in Columbia with life-threatening injuries -- was unknown Tuesday.

Boykin appeared in court by video Monday afternoon and pleaded not guilty. Boykin doesn't have a lawyer.
