Suspect held without bond in slaying of Madison teen
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Painesville man is charged with murder in the death of a Madison teenager on Saturday. Fernando Alejo, 22, is being held without bond in the death of Rogelio Cabrera, 17, court records show. A Lake County grand jury is expected to hear the case in the coming days.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) are likely to close locations due to funding loss. In late May, the Clubs announced they were losing $3 million in federal funding — $2.5 million from Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) funds, and $500,000 from federal pass-through funds through local schools. The organization launched the Save Our Clubs campaign, but CEO Allen Smith told The Land the funding gap has not been completely closed.
