Woman arrested for public intox at park
PAULLINA—A 31-year-old Waterloo woman was arrested about 9:35 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in Paullina on a charge of public intoxication. The arrest of Amber Nichole Barber stemmed from the Paullina Ambulance being paged to Mill Creek Park for a woman who was described as intoxicated, passing out and hyperventilating, with a possible broken wrist, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
Details released in deadly shootout with officers in Iowa
WATERLOO, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Safety is releasing more information into a shooting that left one man dead and two Waterloo police officers injured. Kelvin Lee Plain Jr., 35, has been identified as the man who died in the shooting Sunday morning in Waterloo. The DPS said Waterloo police were dispatched to the 200 block of Manson Street around 8:22 on a report of a male with a gun wearing all green clothing and riding a bicycle.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – Law enforcement said a man who stole money from a Waterloo gas station cash register was later found and arrested in Clinton County over the weekend. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office said at around 9:23 p.m. on Saturday, a man, dressed in dark closing and a black mask, robbed the Elite Fuel Mart at the corner of Elk Run Road and Independence Avenue. Officials said the man, later identified as 45-year-old Revar Harrell, of Waterloo, took money from the cash register and fled in a silver Chevy Equinox with Iowa plates OJK624. On Sunday morning, a deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office saw the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. After executing a search warrant on the vehicle, Harrell was arrested for Possession of a Firearm as a Felon. He is in custody at the Clinton County Jail. There is now an arrest warrant out for Harrell for 2nd-degree robbery. He is expected to be extradited to Black Hawk County.
