Iowa City woman accused of stealing donations from restaurant
An Iowa City woman was charged with theft after allegedly stealing a donation box from a restaurant. The incident reportedly occurred Monday afternoon at Taco Loco on Boyrum Street. According to police, 41-year-old Kamisha Terry of the Town and Campus Apartments removed a plastic donation container from the counter and concealed it in a bag. She then allegedly left the restaurant with the container.

Due to ongoing major flooding on the Mississippi River and the extremely dangerous conditions that exist , the United States Coast Guard has decided to take the rare steps and CLOSE the river to all recreational boating effective now through at least the Fourth of July Holiday Weekend. The closure affects the majority of the Upper Mississippi including Pools 10, 11, 12, and 13.

About 100 people marched through Iowa City Monday night to demonstrate against government support of Iowa’s new “illegal reentry” law. Reverend Guillermo Trevino of West Liberty, born in Texas to two Mexican immigrant parents, told the Press Citizen at the rally “If the law is enacted, it would separate families and put children at risk of losing the emotional and financial support they need to survive.”
