    Introduction

Since 1999, what has been dubbed "Wichita's busiest IHOP," a smallish location at Maple and Ridge Road, has stood as a neighborhood perennial.

This Sunday, the stalwart restaurant is permanently closing and will officially relocate days later across the street.

Firstly, for perspective per ScrapeHero.com's most recently updated restaurant location count: There are 1,699 IHOP restaurants in the United States as of April 03, 2024. The state and territory with the most number of IHOP locations in the US is California, with 225 restaurants, which is about 13% of all IHOP restaurants in the US.

    Let us explore.

    IHOP, 2024

According to a report this week from Kansas.com, the perennially popular original IHOP location is moving to a bigger site.

As excerpted from the report: The IHOP, which was the first to open in Wichita when the chain announced plans to expand into Kansas, will reopen in a bigger, brand-new space at 526 S. Ridge Road. Issa said it should be ready to go on Thursday, Aug. 22 or Friday, Aug. 23.

Originally known as International House of Pancakes, the first IHOP restaurant opened in 1958 in Los Angeles.

    Conclusion

In the event of pertinent updates to this matter, inclusive of potential grand opening logistics of the new location, I will share them here on NewsBreak.
