The Tennessee Vols have been on fire on the recruiting trail lately.

Tennessee currently has the No. 5 2025 recruiting class in the nation after landing four-star defensive back Lagonza Hayward on Saturday and four-star tight end Da'Saahn Brame on Sunday (Brame flipped from Oregon to Tennessee).

The Vols are also still in the mix for several other big-time recruits, including four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny, who included Tennessee in his final two schools on Sunday (along with Florida State).

Konanbanny, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Columbia, SC (originally from France), is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 29 cornerback in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of South Carolina.

“Tennessee was my first offer, so they have been with me from the beginning," said Konanbanny to On3 . "I like how they stayed with me and have been consistent. Florida State offered a little later than Tennessee, but they have been recruiting me for a long time and I have strong relationships with the coaches there like I do at Tennessee."

“When I commit, I will commit to one of these schools and I am getting close," added Konanbanny.

One thing working in Florida State's favor is the fact that Patrick Surtain, a three-time NFL Pro Bowler, is the Seminoles' defensive backs coach.

Tennessee, however, still seems to be in a good spot for the talented cornerback, who noted to On3 that he loves the mountains in East Tennessee and the Vols' environment.

It's unclear when Konanbanny plans to commit, but it sounds like it should be in the not-so-distant future.
