CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two Kernville fires that occurred within two blocks of one another are under investigation, but it does not appear as though they’re connected.

The fires occurred within 10-days of each other and have both been deemed suspicious, according to our media partners at the Tribune-Democrat . Johnstown fire Chief Bob Statler told the Tribune-Democrat that while they’re both considered suspicious there is no indication that they are directly related.

“They’re still under investigation … but it doesn’t appear there’s a connection,” Statler said Monday.

While Johnstown police and a state police fire marshal continue to look into both incidents, both appear to be arsons, Statler added.
