Fatal Traffic Accident in Leroy Township Claims Life of Battle Creek Man, Another Injured
A tragic collision at the intersection of M-66 and B Drive South in Leroy Township, Calhoun County, resulted in one fatality and left another individual injured on Wednesday, as reported by multiple sources. The accident occurred around 1:40 p.m. and involved a Lincoln SUV and a transit van, according to WOODTV. Authorities identified the deceased as a 71-year-old Battle Creek man who was driving the SUV.

Dapper Man, a men’s hair styling salon moved to their new downtown location, the Beffel Building at 208 S. Jackson Street. Dapper Man opened in 2018 at 200 E. Trail Street. This week the salon moved to a newly renovated space in the former Beffel’s Lighting store. City of Morenci Improving Water Treatment System
Morenci, MI – The City of Morenci is currently undertaking improvements to their water treatment system. A post on the City’s website says that, as announced in their June 10th Public Notice, the City of Morenci’s Water Treatment Plant is bypassing iron removal filtration to replace the iron removal filter media in their system’s four filtration tanks.

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A new development in taking shape in Summit Township that will bring another bank branch to the area. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust is developing a new Jackson-area branch on the corner of Horton Road and Weatherwax Drive. Construction began in June, and bank officials anticipate the new branch to be complete by the end of the year, President/CEO John Waldron said.
