Three Illinois state parks are getting recognition along with some of the best state parks in the United States.

HomeToGo released its rankings of the 50 best state parks in the country and the 10 best hidden gem destinations. One Illinois state park made the cut among the 50 best in the country, and two others were named to the top 10 hidden gems.

Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby was named by HomeToGo as the seventh-best state park in the nation. Starved Rock was also the most visited state park in Illinois in 2023.

Rock Cut State Park , located in Winnebago County, ranked at No. 2 on HomeToGo's list of the best hidden gem state parks, while Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton was listed as No. 6.
