    Flooding after storm closes streets, intersections

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Several streets and intersections were closed after a thunderstorm rolled through West Michigan early Tuesday morning.

    Southwest Michigan was treated to a vivid lightning display and another round of heavy rain that prompted some flood warnings and advisories, all of which have been canceled. Many locations along and south of I-94 received 2 to 4 inches of rain.

    In Kalamazoo, the following roads and intersections were closed:

    • The intersection of S Burdick Street / Lake Street
    • Crosstown Parkway from John Street east on Crosstown to Mills Street has multiple flooded areas
    • Crosstown Parkway between Park Street and Rose Street
    • Park Street between Crosstown Parkway and Forest Street
    • Forest Street between Park Street and Rose Street
    • Rose Street between Crosstown Parkway and Forest Street
    • Jasper Street between Vine Street and Crosstown Parkway
    • Dutton Street between Jasper Street and Portage Road
    • Walnut Street between Jasper Street and Portage Road
    • Lake Street between John Street and Walter Street
    • Reed Court between Egleston Avenue and Stockbridge Avenue

    The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said that anyone who needs to get to Bronson Hospital should arrive at the hospital from the west on Walnut Street.
