Man hospitalized after shooting at Kalamazoo apartment

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot at a Kalamazoo apartment complex Wednesday evening, according to police.

Around 6 p.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were called to Fox Ridge Apartments, off of Alamo Avenue on the city’s northwest side, for reports of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

He was treated on scene by first responders then taken to the hospital. Police did not describe his condition.

KDPS officers secured the area, looked for witnesses and collected evidence to find out what exactly led up to the shooting. Detectives are still investigating.
