    1 wanted after Clovis 16-year-old killed in Tuesday night shooting

    CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) – The Clovis Police Department asked community members for help finding a man wanted in possible connection to a Tuesday night shooting that killed a 16-year-old boy in the 1000 block of North Martin Luther King Boulevard.

    According to the police, officers responded at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of North Martin Luther King Boulevard after a report of a shooting. An unnamed 16-year-old boy was found at the scene with “several” gunshot wounds, said police, who later died from his injuries after being hospitalized.

    Officials said that investigators identified 18-year-old Giovanni Brown-Johnson as a suspect in the shooting and issued one warrant for alleged murder and another for alleged tampering with evidence.

    Police asked that anyone with information on Brown-Johnson’s location call 911, and anyone with other information about the shooting call 575-769-1921.

    The department also reminded community members that they can submit anonymous tips using the tip411 program online or through the Curry County Crime Stoppers at 575-763-7000.
