    Texas high school football team season ends before first kickoff

    LIPSCOMB COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Darrouzett High School football team will not take the field in 2024.

    According to Dave Campbell’s website, the Longhorns were not able to find enough players for the program.

    Darrouzett is a town in the Panhandle that has a population of about 300 people. This school year a total of 25 kids enrolled which is tied for the second smallest football school in the UIL.

    With the Longhorns’ absence, District 1-1A Division 2 6-Man now only has fours teams including Lefors, Groom, Miami, and Follett. In, 2023 season the program posted a 1-9 record.
