The three-story apartment caught fire around 12:45 Tuesday morning. Responders said it took firefighters around 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

All the residents got out safely, and the Red Cross is helping four adults.

KCFD said one firefighter was taken to North Kansas City Hospital for heat-related issues. The fire is still under investigation.
