Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy Mocked by NFL Fans After Getting Bullied by Defenders

The narrative this entire offseason has been that 31 NFL teams severely screwed up when they allowed the Kansas City Chiefs to draft wide receiver Xavier Worthy with their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In hindsight, putting the fastest player in NFL history — Xavier ran a record-breaking 4.21 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine — in an offense with Patrick Mahomes may not have been the best idea.

However, when you consider the size of Worthy, who stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, it's fair to assume that some particularly physical NFL defenders are going to have their way with him.

That's what happened on Wednesday during the Chiefs' training camp practice, where Worthy had his first "welcome to the league" moment. Every rookie is going to go through one of those moments, but Worthy's was particularly tough to watch.

When getting press-covered by a defender, Worthy was shoved to the ground not once, but twice when trying to get off the line and into his route.

Once the video hit social media, fans had a field day at Worthy's expense.

Of course, when you have an offense that consists of Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Worthy, then it's not always going to be easy to apply press coverage and not allow a lead in the defense somewhere.

There's little doubt that Worthy will be a great player and a really dangerous weapon for Mahomes to throw to down the field in his career. However, seeing him get pushed around like this after hearing all of the hype is a little bit satisfying.
