Authorities arrested a man attending a Morgan Wallen concert over the weekend for allegedly making terrorist threats.

Aaron Brown , 23, of Illinois, is accused of making a terrorist threat in the second degree after “he threatened on social media to shoot two individuals at a concert Friday night at Arrowhead in Kansas City,” states a press release issued by Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker ’s office on Saturday (August 3). Concert attendees included Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes , Travis Kelce (both of whom joined Wallen on stage) and Chris Jones .

Charging documents state that Brown allegedly “knowingly caused a false belief or fear that a condition involving danger to life existed by posting on X (formerly Twitter) that was was going to shoot [redacted] at a [redacted] concert and defendant did so with reckless disregard of the risk of causing the evacuation of any portion of Arrowhead Stadium, a place of assembly.”

Kansas City detectives and intelligence analysts in the Kansas City Fusion Center were monitoring threats when they observed the one allegedly posted by Brown, documents state. The post included in the charging documents reads: “Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the f***in shot. F*** em! Also f*** you b****!! (Hand emoji with middle finger up twice).” Officials confirmed that the victims did attend Wallen’s concert, which was delayed for about 40 minutes while law enforcement officials arrested Brown. Brown answered a call from police on his cell phone, and told officers which section he was sitting in at the concert.

Brown was attending the event with his girlfriend, who was not named in documents and told police that Brown and his fraternity friends create “burner” accounts on X, formerly Twitter, to “tweet stupid stuff,” the charging documents read. She told officers that she told Brown not share the post as they were driving from The Lake of the Ozarks to Kansas City. Brown posted on X anyway “saying nobody would read it. They later decided to delete the tweet.” She insisted Brown “meant no harm by the tweet,” documents state.

Brown, who has no other criminal history, referred to the social media post as “a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.” He told authorities he made the post “due to stupidity and arrogance,” and he “freaked out” when officials approached him. “He stated he has never made threats in the past on social media and did not know why he did it, and stated ‘it was stupid.’”

Brown was charged with a Class E felony. His bond was set at $15,000.
