The Kansas City Chiefs understand how important having a good kicker is and they proved it on Monday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs agreed to an extension with Harrison Butker which makes him the highest-paid kicker in the National Football League.

The contract makes Butker the highest-paid player at the kicker position by $400k with Baltimore Ravens' Justin Tucker and Philadelphia Eagles' Jake Elliott tied for second place at $6 million. Butker was so excited about the extension that he took to social media to share his excitement about staying in Kansas City long-term.

Butker has been excellent for the Chiefs since joining the team in 2017. He has hit 89.1% of his field goals, including never missing from less than 30 yards (53/53). In 2023, Butker connected on 33-of-35 field goals and perfect on extra points making all 38 of them.

The Chiefs special teams unit is one of the best in the National Football League under Dave Taub and isn't set to change anytime soon.
