LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansan linemen are dispersing across the states impacted by Debby to help with recovery efforts and fix the more than 100,000 outages caused by the storm.

Entergy Arkansas sent roughly 110 baseload contractors to South Carolina, and the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas sent 76 linemen to Florida.

Many of them traveled before the storms came in and now they are clearing trees and reconnecting the grid as much as they can.

Kenneth Holland is a line foreman for the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. When asked how long his team will be there, he said as long as it takes.

“If an event like this were to happen in our area, they wouldn’t hesitate to come help us, so that’s what we do, and that’s part of what we live for,” Holland said. “We are a different breed of animal.”
