PATTERSON – Two young men were injured, one critically, when their dirt bikes collided on Route 292 near the Route 311 intersection in Patterson on the 4th of July. On Friday, a 22 year old man was arrested on Theodore Fremd Avenue in Rye for reckless driving and assault, among other changes. After failure to comply with a traffic stop, Wilver Hiraldo of Norwalk, Connecticut was observed traveling northbound on Theodore Fremd Avenue on an unregistered moped. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Hiraldo accelerated around stopped traffic and drove into the oncoming lane of traffic in an attempt to elude officers.

Tarrytown Volunteer firefighters save swimmers lives on July 4th
These volunteers deserve to be honored by the Greenburgh Town Board for always preparing, training to keep us safe - and for their actions which have saved lives. Our town is so lucky to have very dedicated volunteers who serve as members of different volunteer fire departments and ambulance corps. The volunteers donate hundreds of hours training for life savings rescues and over the years have saved the lives of people in distress. On July 4th the Tarrytown Fire department rescued two swimmers in the Hudson River during the fireworks show. I would like to honor these heroes at an upcoming Town Board meeting and thank them for their life savings initiatives. Watch the news12 story about how the volunteers saved two swimmers on the 4th.
