    Explorers drop series opener to Chicago Dogs in 2-0 road defeat

    ROSEMONT, Ill. (KCAU) – The Sioux City Explorers dropped its series opener to the Chicago Dogs 2-0.

    Sioux City starting pitcher Antonio Velez struck out seven batters in six and two-thirds inning of work while Steven Lacey threw seven innings of shutout ball for the Dogs.

    Narciso Crook scored the game’s only runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run home run for Chicago.

    Sioux City (2-5) will look for its first road win of the season tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m.
