    Centerville races past Arlington for Class B title

    RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — Centerville claimed the Class B state championship in girls basketball thanks to a 62-44 win over Arlington Saturday night for its first title.

    Four Tornadoes were in double figures, led by MaKayla Heesch’s 15 points. Emma Marshall contributed 14. Althea Gust scored 13, and Lillie Eide added 12.

    Addalyn Steffensen led the Cardinals with 15 points, and Jolyssa Steffensen was also in double figures with 10 points.

    This season marked just the third time the Tornadoes have reached the state tournament with their best finish coming as a runner-up.

    Centerville finished the season 24-2, and Arlington completed the year 23-3.
