Dell Rapids sweeps SF Christian in ranked battle

DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (KELO) — The Dell Rapids volleyball team claimed a 3-0 sweep of Sioux Falls Christian in a battle of top ranked teams on Thursday.

The Quarriers started fast in set one, pushing their way to an early lead. The Chargers had trouble hanging around as Dells took the set 25-16.

The second set was much tighter. The Quarriers built an early lead, but the Chargers came back and took the lead. They even led late in the set.

Dell Rapids would go on a run and carry that momentum into a 25-21 set two win.

The Chargers were determined to win a set. The third frame saw Christian roll to a 7-0 lead and later carry that to a 14-4 lead.

However, Dell Rapids was still hunting for a sweep. The Quarriers stormed back into the set, outscoring the Chargers 21-8 over the final stretch to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.

Madelynn Henry led the way for the Quarriers with 18 match high kills. Sophi Randall added 24 assists.
