    East Texas schools announce delays due to inclement weather

    TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – East Texas schools are announcing school closures and delays for Wednesday morning due to complications of weather, power outages and flooding.

    Water on roads, trees down as storms pass through East Texas

    Carthage ISD

    Wednesday: The school district announced they will be closed due to widespread flooded roadways throughout the district, power outages and forecasted severe weather.

    Carlisle ISD

    Wednesday: The school district said due to bad weather and the possibility of poor road conditions, classes will be canceled.

    Thursday : Due to a power outage, Carlisle ISD will be closed on Thursday.

    Center

    Wednesday: The school district said classes will be cancelled as 14 routes or parts of bus routes will not make it due to road conditions. The district said all extracurricular games and practices are cancelled for Wednesday.

    Elysian Fields ISD

    Tuesday: Elysian Fields ISD announced that they are closed on Tuesday due to heavy flooding within the district.

    Wednesday : Elysian Fields ISD will stay closed due to flash flooding and roadway risks.

    Hallsville ISD

    Wednesday: Hallsville ISD said classes will have a two hour delay on Wednesday. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. Staff will also be required to be on campus 2 hours later.

    The school noted that the delay will not affect their virtual academy (TVAH).

    Tuesday: Hallsville ISD announced that due to the ‘possibility of further flooding’ students will be dismissed at 1 p.m.

    Hughes Springs ISD

    Wednesday : Hughes Springs ISD announced on Wednesday morning they were dismissing classes after SWEPCO advised them to start shutting systems down, according to a Facebook post. Buses will begin departing around 9:30 a.m.

    Laneville ISD

    Wednesday: Laneville ISD announced that schools will begin at 10 a.m. due to weather conditions and potential road hazards to allow students and staff to travel safely. The district said school busses will also run on a delayed schedule and start operating an hour before the new start time.

    “The safety of our students and staff is our top priority,” the district said.

    Marshall ISD

    Wednesday : Marshall ISD announced that classes will have a delayed start on Wednesday as MISD is concerned about the “chance of water and fallen trees over the roads.”

    The district said to provide safer routes for drivers and students all MISD schools will begin at 9:30 a.m. Campuses will open at 9 a.m. and MISD staff are expected to be at work by 8:45 p.m. Bus riders should be at their bus stop 2 hour later than the normal bus pick up time.

    Tuesday: Marshall ISD announced that due to predicted severe weather, they will have an early release at 1:30 p.m. Parents will be able to pick up their children starting at this time, bus-riding students can be picked up at this time by their parents. The school said that students that usually ride the bus that aren’t able to be picked up early will be held at school and the buses will run at their regular times.

    Panola College

    Wednesday : Panola College closed all locations due to widespread flooding.

    Sabine ISD

    Tuesday: Sabine ISD announced on Facebook that they will be releasing middle and high school students at 11:55 a.m. They said that buses will be running and parent pick up will occur at noon.

    Sabine ISD said that the elementary school will remain in session the full hours and their parent pick up and buses will run at the standard time.

    Tatum ISD

    Tuesday: Tatum ISD announced that due to the weather, THS students that drive to school are allowed to leave at 2:45, buses will run at regular times, and parents may pick up students at any time this afternoon from any campus.

    Warren ISD

    Thursday: Warren ISD announced that all campuses will be closed on Thursday due to flooding.

    “We consider our kids and families’ safety our number one priority and appreciate your patience with us during this time. Please stay safe out there, and we can’t wait to see you all again on Friday,” Warren ISD said.

    West Rusk CISD

    Wednesday: West Rusk Consolidated ISD announced that classes will have a two-hour delay.

    Winona ISD

    Tuesday: Winona ISD announced that campuses will be closing on Tuesday due to a city wide power outage. The school said buses will run at 2 p.m. and car riders at 1 p.m.
