According to a release, in February 2024 a narcotic search warrant was executed at 9077 Bob-O-Link Road after a yearlong investigation.

The DA’s office said, during the search Skinner was found in a shop building’s room with methamphetamine, marijuana, cutting agents, loaded syringes and multiple firearms. Skinner was reportedly next to a loaded 20 gauge shotgun that had been sawed off.

Skinner was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, a release said. The district attorney’s office said six other individuals were arrested at the location and they are currently awaiting trial.

“Because of the efforts of the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office and our continuous aggressive prosecution, the message should be heard loud and clear; criminals are not going to have a safe haven in this county,” Billy Byrd, Upshur County criminal district attorney, said.
