    Kilgore College awarded $150K for ‘student emergency aid’

    KILGORE, Texas ( KETK ) – Kilgore College announced on Tuesday that they were awarded $150,000 from the Greater Texas Foundation toward emergency aid for students.

    FAFSA frustration continues into fall semester

    According to a release, the grant will be dispersed over the course of three years and will support the college’s emergency aid program.

    “We are so grateful to Greater Texas Foundation for this opportunity. Not only will this grant allow us to provide direct emergency aid services to our students, but our staff will also receive intensive training as well,” said Ebony Dennis, KC dean of support services and retention. “Our overall goal is help our students stay in school so they can reach their educational goals.”

    The Greater Texas Foundation President and CEO Sue McMillin described the grant saying, “emergency aid support can mean the difference between students leaving college without a degree and a student becoming a college graduate.”
