Kevil woman extricated from vehicle following crash with railroad support beams
A Kevil woman was taken to the hospital after being extricated from her vehicle following an accident early Thursday morning. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said Amanda Selph was driving west on Blandville Road when she lost control of the vehicle. Her vehicle left the roadway, and struck the wooden support beams for the railroad overpass at Blandville Road near Childress Road.
Several arrested during recent drug investigations in McCracken County
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office has made several arrest in connection with drug investigations over the past week in McCracken County. On July 16th detectives stopped a vehicle on South 6th Street in Paducah. Detectives allegedly found small quantities of Methamphetamine, synthetic Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Joshua Luna, was charged in connection with the drugs.
Two arrested in Paducah copper theft investigation
Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection with a Paducah theft investigation. On Tuesday the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office went to a business in the 4000 block of Clarks River Road where a suspect had driven up to the property on a modified go-kart and cut multiple copper wires from a breaker box. The box was damaged during the theft.
Two adults, two teens arrested after Paducah burglary
Two adults and two juveniles are facing McCracken County several charges following the burglary of a Paducah business on Monday. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded at 4:32 am to an alarm at a business in the 5000 block of Benton Road, a location where previous burglaries and thefts had been reported. Deputies said they found broken glass, but no suspects still at the business when they arrived.
Two Metropolis Police Officers Receive Lifesaving Awards
METROPOLIS – Two Metropolis Police officers were given lifesaving awards at Monday’s Metropolis City Council meeting. According to Police Chief Harry Masse, awards were given to Officer John Suggs and Officer Christian Cepeda by Chief Kirk Brueggeman, Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, Vice President, Region 1 and Chief of Police in O’Fallon, IL, and by Chief Masse.
Paducah Police Department granted license plate reading technology
PADUCAH — The Paducah City Commission approved a contract for 15 additional license plate readers for the Paducah Police Department during Tuesday’s meeting. The license plate readers are fixed cameras placed at high-traffic intersections, thoroughfares, and state highways. They operate solely on solar power and are used with the goal of enhancing public safety.
