Norman animal shelter shuts down due to mold concerns

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The Second Chance Animal Rescue says teams are actively relocating animals to other rescue centers due to mold contamination in the air vents and they are no longer accepting item donations.

“We greatly appreciate the overwhelming number of inquiries from individuals eager to assist our organization during this challenging period. While our small staff has not had the opportunity to respond to each inquiry at this time, your willingness to help is deeply appreciated.” said the rescue.

The Norman shelter posted of Facebook , “we’ve opted out of organizing a mass adoption day due to uncertainties about our ability to take back animals into our care and our concern about keeping the public safe at our physical location. However, if we encounter difficulties in finding suitable placements, we are confident in turning to our supportive community and fans for assistance.”
