According to officials, within a flexible and supportive learning environment, Learning Post Academy students and staff work together towards achieving a high school diploma and developing a foundation for a successful life beyond high school.

The graduation began with the prelude and processional following the pledge of allegiance given by graduating student, Ron-Paul Tamayo.

After the pledge of allegiance was given, Learning Post Principal Juliet Fine gave the introductions and welcomed the students, faculty, family and graduates at the ceremony.

Once Fine was finished with giving the introduction the commencement address was given by graduating students Zachary Jones and Marycarmen Martinez Kladt Benavides.

Right after the commencement addresses were given, several graduates were awarded and honored by their teachers with scholarships and awards.

After graduates, teachers, parents and other loved ones received both of the commencement speeches, teachers awarded the students.

The three awards that were given out to several students were the CTE, National Merits and Presidential Awards, SCV ACSA Scholarship, SCV/Newhall Scholarship.

As teachers called said graduates’ names, each student stood there proudly as their loved ones cheered for them in the crowd.

As each graduate was called to receive their diploma a description of them written by their supervisor was read aloud.

“Paloma is an enthusiastic learner, who is committed to helping her community. Aside from being a successful student, Paloma volunteers for Project Angel food, an organization that prepares and delivers free meals to people,” said LPA staff of one student.

One by one, each graduate received their diploma and posed for a picture with Principal Fine and Hart District Assistant Superintendant, Ms. Kathy Hunter.

As the graduates went back to their seats they turned their tassels, to signify that they have completed high school as loved ones cheered in the crowd.
