STONE COUNTY, Mo. — It’s been weeks since the disappearance of Haven Shelton.

She left her home in Kimberling City in the middle of the night three weeks ago. Her parents, Bob and Jennifer, say their daughter has special needs which requires her to take medication twice a day.

Haven’s mom describes her daughter as a sweet young girl who loves to read and listen to music. She wants Haven to know that she is loved and her family will stop at nothing until they know Haven is safe.

“It’s the not knowing that is so hard,” said Bob Shelton.

Bob and Jennifer Shelton have spent the last three weeks searching far and wide for their daughter, who left in the middle of the night on June 11.

“The Stone County Sheriff here, they’ve been wonderful. They’ve worked very hard,” said Jennifer Shelton. “They have done a lot of ground searching through very forested and rugged areas. They’ve been on foot. They’ve searched acres and acres for her, and they haven’t been able to come up with anything.”

The family says the sheriff has interviewed friends and people that she knew, including searching areas that she is familiar with.

“They’ve searched homeless camps, and we have worked with any local organizations that work with homeless just to see if they’ve seen her or if, you know, left posters with them so that if they do see her that maybe they could contact the Stone County Sheriffs Department,” said Jennifer.

But right now, time is of the essence.

“She’s very vulnerable to anybody that might want to do harm to her or take advantage of her,” Jennifer said. “Because of that, we’re just very concerned for her safety and that she may have latched onto somebody that offered her help at this point, and they may not have the best intentions.”

Regardless of the situation, Haven’s parents just want her to come home.

“We just want Haven to know that we love her very much,” said Jennifer. “We just want you to try to find a phone and call 911 or call us as soon as you can so we know that you’re okay,” said Shelton.

Anyone who has any information regarding Haven is encouraged to call the Stone County’s Sheriff’s Department.
