Messenger: A disturbing twist in the case of security guards who tackled BJC patient
ST LOUIS — Lawsuits sometimes become living, breathing things. They transform into something quite a bit different than when they were filed. So it is with Hughie Robinson vs. Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Cardinals send a message to Paul Goldschmidt that was a long time coming
The St. Louis Cardinals split a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves in an NL Wild Card clash on Saturday, little thanks to Paul Goldschmidt of course. The Cardinals first baseman has hardly looked like himself this season, and it couldn't come at a worse time for he or St. Louis. Goldy is in a contract year, and a staple of this Cardinals generation.

Carson Wentz avoided an injury walking to Chiefs camp and Patrick Mahomes wouldn't let him hear the end of it
Carson Wentz has had some rough injury luck during his NFL career, and he never regained his MVP-caliber form after a 2017 ACL tear with the Eagles. But nothing would have topped getting injured while walking *to* training camp. That’s nearly what happened on Sunday. But Wentz can be thankful...
St. Louis Cardinals Show Off Possible Donald Trump-Inspired Home Run Celebration
After Alec Burleson hit a home run Sunday afternoon, players in the St. Louis Cardinals' dugout grabbed their ears and held up fists like Donald Trump did after getting shot last weekend.
FIRST WARN FORECAST: Chance for rain dwindles as heat returns
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Sunday turned out to be a spectacular day! Most of us were in the upper 70s and lower 80s in the afternoon. We do have a few isolated showers/thunderstorms that will be possible through early evening, but this activity is more miss than hit. Many of us will stay dry. If you are loving this cooler stretch, we do have one more day in the lower 80s before the temperatures climb later this week. Monday morning starts in the lower 60s, with lower 80s in the afternoon. There is another 20% chance for a pop-up shower or random rumble, but that is about it. No severe thunderstorm threat. The main weather story after Monday will be the gradual climb of temperatures back to late July standards. We are expecting mid-80s Tuesday and Wednesday with a return to the upper 80s by the end of this next week. Generally, no major heat is expected, but we could climb into the lower 90s for some next weekend. Moderate humidity could allow for it to feel slightly hotter than our actual air temperatures. There is no great chance of rain in the next week, so things could turn a little crispy through the end of July. Some of our computer models are hinting at a much hotter start to August.
Chiefs give biggest headache an intriguing lifeline
There's no need to rehash every instance over the past year and a half in which wide receiver Kadarius Toney has caused virtually everyone in or around the Kansas City Chiefs organization to pinch the bridge of their nose in dismay and pain. Of course, the most egregious incident was lining up offside against the Bills to nullify what would've been the game-winning touchdown pass on a trick play.
Chief in Danger of Losing Job Testing Out Surprise New Position
There was a belief that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney might not be on the roster this season as he was inactive for the final three games of the 2023 regular season and the entire playoff run. However, the Chiefs' brass led by head coach Andy Reid and...
Burleson, Goldschmidt hit home runs in Cardinals’ 6-2 win over Braves
ATLANTA (AP) — Paul Goldschmidt hit one of four Cardinals home runs after getting dropped in the order and St. Louis knocked off the Atlanta Braves 6-2 on Sunday to win the series. Cardinals designated hitter Alec Burleson had a homer and two RBIs, giving him 21 in 16...
Dodgers immediately scoop up former Braves reliever in least-surprising transaction
The Kansas City Royals made an aggressive trade weeks before the trade deadline, acquiring Hunter Harvey to bolster their bullpen. They gave up a lot to get him, but that deal did make some sense from their perspective considering their dire need for bullpen help. The corresponding move to add Harvey to their active roster was a rather surprising one, as the Royals DFA'd Nick Anderson.
Travis Kelce's Mom Urged Actors to 'Sneak Note' Into Chiefs Star's Locker
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce received supportive notes from an unlikely source once he arrived at NFL training camp. He had his mother, Donna, to thank. Actors Tyler Hynes and Hunter King told People Magazine that they each left Kelce a note in his locker after filming the upcoming ...
