Buffets were once the rule, but all-you-can-eat opportunities still exist.
The great recession of 2008 hurt the great American tradition of all-you-can-eat buffets. Covid-19 delivered the fatal blow – almost. In their heyday, buffets came in many cuisines. Pizza joints sold by the slice. Quick-service chains featured breakfast buffets. Most notably in the U.S., Chinese and Indian restaurants capitalized on the buffet idea, particularly at lunchtime.
Two Open Ground Studios artists have been covering the county with colorful murals.
There’s a new mural in Seaside. It decorates the Open Ground Studios’ building, bringing more color and interest to passing drivers and pedestrians along Fremont Boulevard. The mural is by two Open Ground artists – Paul Richmond and Brenda Scettrini-Saglio – and is just one of 13 the duo recently finished in various locations around Monterey County in a campaign they call Community Colors.
