School of Rock The Musical comes to LCC

Get ready to rock and roll as Lenoir Community College presents School of Rock The Musical.

This high-energy show follows the journey of a wannabe rock star who turns a class of straight-A students into a mind-blowing rock band. The show features catchy tunes and a story that celebrates the power of music and self-discovery.

The show, directed by Lenoir Community College’s Fine Arts Program Chair Jessica Cruz, started Friday and continue today and Sunday and July 19-21 at LCC in the Briley Auditorium on the Turner Stage. Neuse News is the title sponsor.

This show is one of many that will be a part of the performing arts series at LCC. Tickets are available at www.lenoircc.edu/schoolofrock. Tickets are $15 for accessible seating; $20 for orchestra seating; $15 for standard seating; and $10 for student standard seating (ages 4-17; student ID required for those 18 and older).

The large cast includes LCC students and staff members along with youth and adult actors and performers from around the region. The group includes cast members from Greene and Pitt counties.

Ryan Mobley is ready to rock the stage in his musical theater debut this summer. Mobley is 17 years old and attends Greene Central High School. He is extremely excited to be performing the role of Snake.

Sadie Horton, a member of the adult ensemble, is very excited to be back on stage participating in an LCC show. She currently works as a cook at 2nd Street Café in Ayden. When she is not working, she is either teaching guitar lessons or at home playing Stardew Valley.

The pair are among more than 20 actors from around the region ready to rock the LCC stage.
