LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — It was a sloppy, rainy day across Acadiana on Thursday, but that did not put a stop to games as the 2024 high school football season got underway.

Six teams squared off on Thursday ahead of the official start of week one, which starts Friday evening.

Here are the scores of Thursday’s games:

• LRCH defeats JS Clark 54-8
• Erath defeats Loreauville 14-7
• Opelousas Catholic defeats Iota 20-14
