Four Salisbury High School students competed in the 72nd Annual MSHSAA State Music Festival on April 26th at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Isabell Rice took both a euphonium solo and a vocal solo to state. Her euphonium solo piece was “All in a Summer’s Day,” composed by Gavin Lendt. Isabell received a gold rating, the highest possible award, for her euphonium performance. For her vocal solo, she sang “Caro Mio Ben,” composed by Tommaso Giordani, and “The Mermaid Song,” by Franz Joseph Haydn. She earned a silver rating for her vocal performance.

The Salisbury TBB Vocal Trio of Davis Conway, Isaac Bearden, and Christopher Howser performed two songs at the state competition. They sang “A Night Ride,” composed by Vicki Tucker Courtney, and “My Heart’s in the Highlands,” by Victor C. Johnson. The trio received a bronze rating for their performance.

To qualify for the state competition, the students received exemplary (1) ratings at the district festival in March.
