    Tanner Franklin commits to Vols, returns to Tennessee

    Tennessee and head coach Tony Vitello received a commitment to the Vols’ program on Tuesday.

    Kennesaw State sophomore pitcher Tanner Franklin committed to Tennessee.

    “Extremely blessed for this new opportunity,” Franklin announced . “Thank you Lord. Go Vols! Psalms 24:17”

    The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Franklin (6-1) appeared in 34 games, including three starts, from 2023-24 at Kennesaw State.

    He recorded 61 strikeouts, a 6.34 ERA, five saves in 38.1 innings pitched.

    Franklin went to Kennesaw State from Jefferson County High School in Dandridge, Tennessee.

    Tennessee won the national championship , the Southeastern Conference regular-season and tournament titles in 2024.

    2025 will be the eighth season for Tennessee under Vitello.
